Named after Palamedes. The Greeks said he invented numbers to bring order to the camp at Troy. We use them to bring order to your taxes.

Your company's VAT, VIES and declarations, ready before the 14th. You just press approve.

For owner-managed EOOD, OOD and ET companies. PalaUp issues your invoices, reads supplier invoices and receipts from a photo, matches them to your bank statement, keeps the VAT ledgers and prepares the monthly filings, each explained in English. Profit and tax owed are visible at any time.

€25 a month instead of €60–150 for full-service bookkeeping. Your accountant still signs the annual accounts.

What a VAT-registered EOOD files, month by month

  • VAT return (Справка-декларация), due by the 14th: 12 a year
  • EU sales list (VIES-декларация), due by the 14th: 12 a year
  • Owner's social security forms (Декларации обр. 1 и 6), due by the 25th: 12 a year
  • Corporate tax advances (ЗКПО), due 15 Apr · 15 Jul · 15 Dec, if due: 3 a year
  • Annual corporate tax return (ГДД чл. 92 ЗКПО), due by 30 June: 1 a year
  • Annual financial statements (ГФО · публикуване), due by 30 September: 1 a year
  • 41 filings a year. 12 approvals with PalaUp.

Counted for a VAT-registered EOOD with an owner and no employees that pays quarterly corporate tax advances. Companies whose net sales two years earlier stayed under 300,000 BGN (about €153,000) owe no advances, which makes it 38. Form 6 for the owner is monthly only when the owner is paid for personal work. The annual statements are adopted by 30 June and published by 30 September, prepared and signed by an accountant. SAF-T is not counted: for small companies it starts in 2030 at the earliest.

01The problem

A month in a small company, seen from the paperwork

  1. It is the end of the month and your accountant is waiting for documents.

The invoices are in your inbox, the receipts are in a jacket pocket, and the bank statement hasn't been downloaded. Your accountant can't start without them, and you won't get to it before Friday.

    the 14th: VAT · VIES

  2. You learn your profit when it is too late to act on it.

What you owe in VAT for the month, you hear a few days before the 14th. What the year's profit is, you hear at year-end. Until then you decide by feel.

VAT owed as of today: ?

  3. Part of what you pay for is data entry.

A good share of a monthly fee goes into retyping invoices and bank lines, which software does well. Your accountant's knowledge is worth more than that.

invoices · bank lines · receipts

02How it works

What happens each month

The rules are finite: a fixed set of forms, dates and formulas. That makes the routine a job for software, and the checking a job for you.

  1. You snap an invoice or receipt, and PalaUp reads it.

AI pulls out the supplier, VAT number, date, amounts and VAT rate, files the document in the right ledger and matches it to the payment in your bank statement. You only confirm what it isn't sure about. Issuing invoices with the right reverse-charge wording works in PalaUp too.

  2. PalaUp calculates and fills in the forms.

VAT, social security and income tax come from those numbers. The VAT return, VIES declaration, Form 1 and payment orders are filled in, each in English with the Bulgarian form name beside it.

  3. You check the numbers and decide.

One screen shows every amount and due date, and each amount opens to show how it was calculated. Nothing reaches НАП until you approve. When you do, PalaUp files it.

06Questions

Questions owners ask first

Is PalaUp enough for my EOOD, or do I still need an accountant?

For the monthly routine, PalaUp is meant to be enough: invoicing, bank, VAT, VIES and the owner's declarations. The annual financial statements have to be compiled and signed by a qualified accountant, so PalaUp works alongside yours and gives them access. If you don't have one yet, tell us in the form below and we'll help you find one before launch.

Do I need to speak Bulgarian?

No. The product, the monthly summary and support are in English. The forms are filed in Bulgarian because НАП requires it, so PalaUp fills them in and shows you an English reading of every line, next to the official name.

Do I need a qualified electronic signature (КЕП)?

Yes, once a year. With your КЕП you request an API key in НАП's portal and paste it into PalaUp; we walk you through it step by step. After that, PalaUp files on its own once you approve. Don't have a КЕП or would rather not deal with it? You can authorise us with a power of attorney instead, and we file on your behalf.

What does the AI do, and what happens to my documents?

It reads your invoices and receipts from a photo or PDF, sorts your bank transactions and flags anything unusual, such as an EU client without a valid VAT number. Every number it extracts is shown to you before anything is filed, and you can correct it. Your documents are used only to run your account; we don't use them to train AI models.

Is this legal, and who is responsible for my filings?

Preparing your own filings with software is legal. You are the taxpayer, so you are responsible for what is filed in your name, exactly as you are when an accountant files for you. PalaUp's part is to show the calculation behind every number, so that you approve something you have actually seen.

What if PalaUp makes a mistake?

You see every calculation before anything is filed, which is the first safeguard. If an error of ours gets through, we correct it and help you file the correction. Nothing is filed without your approval, so the final say stays with you. The exact terms will be in our terms of service, published before launch.

Does it handle employees and payroll?

Not in the first version. It starts with the owner's own declarations, for companies with few or no employees. Payroll for employees is planned, with no date yet.

How is this different from other accounting apps?

It does not try to be a full accounting suite. It covers the monthly routine of a small, owner-managed company and leaves the year-end to an accountant. Most tools stop at a file that you upload to НАП yourself, while PalaUp is meant to file after you approve.

When does it launch?

We are aiming for 2027 and have no narrower date yet. Waitlist members hear first.
